We have already heard many rumors about VIVO’s upcoming smartphone X5 Max that is going to be only 4.75mm in thickness. Well, it is official now. The company has posted teaser images of X5 Max on its Weibo page officially confirming its existence. According to rumors, the said handset will be unveiled this December. Upon its official launch, X5 Max will become the world’s thinnest smartphone displacing the current reigning champion, the 4.85mm thin Oppo R5.
VIVO does not reveal much on its page except nicknaming it as “Thin Heartstrings X5 Max” in Chinese. The images show it to be a very thin smartphone with great audio and a body made of metal alloy.
The X5 Max is touted to have a 5.5-inch display with a 1920 x 1080p resolution, octa-core 1.7Ghz MT6752 chipset probably from MediaTek, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. The device will have LTE connectivity and run Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Dimensions of the handset would be 153.9mm x 78mm x 4.75mm.
No details about its battery or pricing are available. Traditionally, VIVO launches its smartphones only in China but the world’s thinnest smartphone may be made available in internatonal markets too. We will know soon enough since its official launch is expected next month. We’ll keep you posted.
