Rumors have it that Android 4.4.3 KitKat is soon to hit the market, initially starting with Google’s Nexus 5 smartphone as mentioned by Sprint. The upgrade to Nexus 5 was a solution for the battery draining problem.
There is speculation as to which device would next receive the 4.4.3 KitKat upgrade. According to Bluetooth SIG, Sony Xperia Z Ultra’s Google Play Edition that was introduced in December last year, is the lucky one.
Google Play Edition of Xperia Z Ultra comes under the Phablet category with a 6.4-inch display and has been certified for the Android 4.4.3 update. The image below shows certification for ‘Togari GPE’. Togari is the code name for Sony Xperia Z Ultra and GPE stands for Google Play Edition. The software version number KTU72.S1.3013 mentioned therein is thought to be the Android 4.4.3 KitKat OS.
