Microsoft’s official acquisition of Nokia Devices and Services is expected to occur by this month end. However, just days before this to happen, a letter of transition sent to Nokia’s supplier base has been leaked out showing that after the official switch over to Microsoft takes place, the Nokia Oyj will be named as the Microsoft Mobile Oy.
The company will then exist as a completely owned Microsoft subsidiary and then onwards it is expected to handle the mobile device production. However, according to the letter, current suppliers will have the same terms and conditions until now it followed with Nokia. Nokia is even to work on a smartwatch and as to whether it will move ahead with the smartwatch after Microsoft’s acquisition can’t be said at the moment.
