We have been hearing rumors about the Meizu MX4 for quite some time now, although the device never really got announced. The company has now started issuing invites for an event scheduled for the 2nd of September with the specific purpose of launching this oft rumored handset. Initially, the MX4 was one of the early 2K display phones expected to get into the markets.

Meizu MX4 is having 5.5 inch 2K resolution display along with a 20.7-megapixel camera from Sony. It is powered by the octa core Samsung Exynos 5433 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 4G LTE support and a latest build of Android KitKat with the company’s proprietary Flyme OS user interface. There are rumors of coming of 1080p display variant of Meizu MX4 carrying an older version of the Exynos chip.

The top of the line Meizu MX4 is expected to cost CNY 2,499 ($407 or€303) when it hits the markets while there’s no word on the other variant yet. The first week of September is rolling out to be quite eventful for us techno fans, with the likes of Sony and Samsung already scheduled to announce their flagships.
