LG Isai FL has been launched by KDDI in Japan. This made many people think that the LG Isai FL must be Japan’s LG G3. The LG Isai FL is actually an upgrade to the LG Isai phone released about a year ago.
However, LG recently made the distinction very clear by saying that the Isai FL is not related to the LG G3, and that the G3 is to be a whole different model. The G3 is LG’s new flagship phone so they will need to bring something new to the market.
The specs of the LG Isai FL are certainly similar to what we expect from the LG G3. The LG Isai FL has a 5.5 inch 1440 x 2560 screen with 4 times the resolution of a 720p display. It has a powerful Snapdragon 801 MSM8975-AC processor and a 13.2 MegaPixel camera which allows it to take 4K video. It has 2GB RAM, and a 1.3 MegaPixel front facing camera. It comes with Android 4.4.2 pre-installed. The whole thing is powered by a 3000mAh battery.
In addition to WiMAX 2 + LTE-A it supports some regional Japanese standards like OneSeg and Fullseg that work only in Japan. It also has Bluetooth 4.0, and WiFi a/b/g/n/ac.
Some novelty features include the LG KnockOn technology which wakes the phone by using taps instead of a power button and a new UI called Isai Motion. The LG Isai FL is also water resistant and can survive in 3.2 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. Since this phone was made for KDDI, its expected to only arrive in the Japanese market.
We’re expecting the G3 to have more RAM and a better front and back facing camera than the LG Isai FL. The fact that LG is explicitly telling us that the LG G3 is a different model and should not be compared with the LG Isai FL could mean that LG has some exciting news about the LG G3.
