LG’s official site has just spilled a few extra tidbits about the G Watch, which is due out in the summer and will be based on Google’s Android Wear platform. The company has added a slew of photos of the smartwatch and has announced its Champagne Gold and Stealth Black versions. LG’s G Watch will face off against Motorola Mobility’s Moto 360 this summer.
The LG G Watch is sporting a square display with rumors floating around of a 1.65″ 280×280 pixels display. LG is promising that the screen will never go to sleep — unlike Samsung’s Gear 2, where you have to wake up the display with a movement of your arm. LG is boasting that the G Watch is water-resistant and dustproof, alluding to its ruggedness. But who would buy a smartwatch that breaks down when you wash your hands, anyway?
Android Wear is heavily relied on Google Now for searching, getting directions and various information, playing music and it’s cool to see it in action from LG’s photos.
The G Watch will be having 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.Summer is shaping up to be a very interesting time for smartwatches as various Android Wears from Motorola,HTC, Asus, Samsung as well as from Fossil are set to launch.
