Barcelona based Technology Company Idapt has come up with “Modulo”, Pocket-Sized Charger. The company says that the product will give you power and portability. It’s a credit card size gadget with the ability to power up any USB device on the go.
Idap CEO Jacques Giribet said, “All our lifestyle now goes to electronics — it’s portable, really portable.” “We have designed a battery that is as small as possible, taking into account that we want it to give you the same power as the original battery.”
The Modulo can be connected to electronic device either with one of Idapt’s mini cables or its original charger. The Modulo comes with special adhesive strips which can be used to safely attach to electronic devices. The adhesive strips are made in way that it won’t leave residue behind. Multiple Modulos can be stacked together for faster charging. The company claims that, one Modulo would be able to power up a Smartphone as fast as a normal charger but a tablet would need two or three Modulo to charge full quicker.
The Modulo itself can be charged using regular wall power socket, connected to a computer or using a wireless receiver. The company is hoping to release a solar-charging panel and crank add-on that creates its own energy. According to the company, one charge on a Modulo can last as long as six months.
Giribet said, “What sets Modulo apart from the rest of the pack is the fact that it’s compatible with so many devices, and users don’t have to choose between true portability — each Modulo weighs 2.4 ounces — and function. “None of the solutions that are there are really a solution.”
Modulo’s kick starter campaign surpassed its fundraising goal by attracting more than $60,000 out of its actual goal $30,000. It won iLounge’s Best in Show Award at CES 2014. The company has planned to start the production in June and ship out the product staring July.
