Rumors have been rife recently about Sony’s upcoming Xperia Z4 and other members of the Z4 family. PhoneArena has now received a tip that the Xperia Z4 and its big brother the Xperia Z4 Ultra are slated to be unveiled on January 5 at the CES Expo to be held in Las Vegas, US.
Sony has already sent out invitations for a press event it is holding on January 5 and earlier also it was speculated that the Xperia Z4 would be introduced at that time. Other rumors doing the rounds for Xperia Z4 include its Quad HD display and pics of LCD Touch Digitizer.
The new tip also includes design and specs for the upcoming Sony flagship device Xperia Z4 and the Z4 Ultra. The bezels of the Xperia Z4 will have thinner top and bottom bezels and corners would be a little more rounded.
The Xperia Z4 specs are a little disappointing compared to what has been leaked earlier. The Z4 will sport a 5.4-inch screen and Snapdragon 805 processor, not the 5.5-inch and Snapdragon 810 as thought earlier. The Z4 will have 4 GB of RAM, 3420mAh battery and the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
In the camera department, there will be a 20.7MP primary camera with a new gen sensor and 2 additional lens elements that will help in collecting more light. The front camera would be a 4.8MP one with wide-angle view for taking great selfies. Sony had recently announced the 21MP Exmor RS IMX230 stacked CMOS image sensor which we can hope to see in the new Xperia Z4. The company also said it was developing a similar 16MP stacked CMOS sensor which we might see in the Z4 Ultra.
According to the new tip, the bigger device Xperia Z4 Ultra will not feature a 6.4-inch display as rumored earlier. It will have a 5.9-inch Triluminos display, Snapdragon 805 SoC and a 4GB RAM. The handset will have a 16MP camera and a dual LED flash. Its chassis will be very thin at 5.7mm. You may recall that the Z Ultra was the thinnest smartphone when it came out.
Well, we will have to wait till January 5 to know if these specs are for real.
