Gamers now will have another reason to be happy. Samsung has officially introduced Samsung Gear VR at IFA 2014. Gear VR is a virtual headset which allows you to have an immerse virtual reality of a VR-compatible game. It will give you the similar feeling of a Oculus Rift 3D gaming. However, unlike Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR requires Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to be placed inside the headset. On top of that the device uses AMOLED display ability to shift pixels on and off almost instantaneously. It is quite technical therefore we do not have the further details but it is more importantly, it brings virtual reality closer to any Note 4 owner.
The general impression of the product is that it is a little bit bigger, heavier and it is not as comfortable as we imagine it to be. Not to mention it is only works with Galaxy Note 4 as of now.
We do not have any further detail on the release date and also the pricing. However, there is an allegedly internal document belonging to Samsung, most probably the department of customer service, circulating on the web. It is most probably the Q&A training sheet for customer service employees to answer some of most common questions which will be asked by the customers. Questions like, when will the VR be launched or how much it will cost.
From the internal document, we found out that Samsung Gear VR will be released in South Korea on December 1, 2014. It will be pricing at about 200,000 Won or $187. However, this information cannot be verified.
