According to the recent report coming from a weekly newspaper from the home-town, watchmaker Swatch is said to be coming with a smartwatch battery till next year that would allow nearly 6 months of usage without charging for a single time. CEO, Nick Hayek, said “Whoever brings a battery for a smartwatch to the market that you don’t need to charge for six months has a competitive advantage.”
Hayek also said that along with the company’s own research arm Belenos and Battery producer Renata, the company would be coming with long lasting batteries which could not only power wearable but also automobiles. Swatch has already ventured into the smartwatch market by relelasing its first smartwatch the SmartZero back in February this year. This timepiece from the company basically focuses on the capabilities of playing beach volleyball.
Well, it this turns out to be true, it will be a major breakthrough as majority of smart device manufacturers today are suffering from having larger battery lives for their devices. We would wait to see how things figure out.
