Chinese manufacturer Oppo has launched its Oppo R1S that is believed to be an upgraded version of the recently launched Oppo R1 and comes with a better camera and faster on-board chipset. Appearance and design wise, the Oppo R1S looks quite similar to the Oppo R1 with the same weight and footprint and even the same 5” 720p display and only the processor has been made more powerful.
The earlier launched Oppo R1 works with a MediaTek MT6582 chip along with a quad-core Cortex A7 processor clocked at 1.3GHz. Whereas the Oppo R1S comes with a 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with a Cortex A7 CPU and Adreno 305 GPU.
The RAM specifications also remain same to 1GB. The new chipset makes the Oppo R1S to be LTE capable. The Oppo R1S hosts an even more powerful camera compared to its predecessor and features a 13MP instead of the previous 8MP that offers HDR stills, 1080p video recording and panaromic shots.
The handset is powered by Color Os based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and will be available in blue and white color shades priced at CNY 2,498 or €290.
