As rumour had it, apparently after more than one year LG has made his entry in chipset business with 8-core Odin chip and has set up mass-production for the same .It is ,as you know, based on ARM’s big LITTLE architecture with 4 Cortex-A15 cores and 4 low-powered Cortex-A7 cores and will be confined in 28 nanometer size.
As per the reports from Korean media, although Soc is not at much distance on the road of mass production, the LG G3 won’t be making much noise around it. As it has been speculated LG might use Odin to power its more budget offerings like the L-series
LG might make TSMC partner, who has been working with Apple for A8 processor. Odin is supposed to be available in quad-core and octa-core versions.
The quad-core version will pack an ARM Mali-T604 GPU where as the latter one with ARM’s latest Mali-T760 GPU. Octa-core version as its first benchmarks, is quite an artist where one should notice that it was clocked at low speed like 1 GHz at maximum.
