LG Electronics has always been ahead-of-the-pack as far as display making is concerned. Earlier in 2013, the company went out announcing Quad HD panel which now has been observed in most of the premium flagships today. LG in its this year premium flagship the LG G3, showcased the prowess of its QHD displays. Moving ahead in its display technology, the mobile display section of LG has mentioned that the company has just created a display panel having the world’s thinnest bezels measuring just 0.7mm thickness offering some record breaking screen-to-phone-size ratios.
Here is something what a recent press release said: “LG Display’s Neo Edge technology uses an adhesive instead of double-sided tape to attach and completely seal the total area and edges of the panel’s circuit board and backlight unit. Because there is no plastic guide panel to attach the panel and backlight, the Neo Edge technology helps achieve minimal bezel width, while blocking light leakage and being waterproof and dustproof.”
In addition, the 5.3” full HD display uses company’s new in-cell touch technology known as the “Advanced In-cell Touch” that allows thinner panels as the touch layer is said to be integrated with the screen itself still retaining the touch sensitivity of the screen. With such a unique minimum bezel design at heart, we expect such display to be seen into device very soon. The company has confirmed shipping of this display to customers from next month.
