OnePlus One smartphone, one of the most awaited Android phone will be made official tomorrow on 23rd April. Meanwhile photographer Martin Mal has published its 13 megapixel f/2.0 camera comparison against the Oppo Find 5 and a Nikon 3100 DSLR.
He pitted the pre-prototyped “OnePlus One” handset against the Oppo Find 5′s 13 megapixel f/2.2, and a 14 megapixel Nikon D3100 with an 18-55 f/3.5-5.8 variable zoom lens. The tests were all performed under different lighting conditions and shooting scenarios, including broad daylight, soft daylight, medium light, low light and extreme low light, as well as macro shots.
The tests were all performed under different lighting conditions and shooting scenarios, including broad daylight, soft daylight, medium light, low light and extreme low light, as well as macro shots. He says that all cameras were shooting in auto mode with flash turned off. No tripods and HDR modes are used.
The result? The OnePlus One was quite comparable to the Nikon 3100 DSLR, which is not something a whole ton of smartphone cameras can boast with minimal noise. The OnePlus One’s post-snap processing creates a more yellow tinge in various shots, otherwise comes out looking like a very capable camera in non-ideal conditions. Here are few comparisons where the first image is from OnePlus One’s camera and the other one is from Nikon D3100 DSLR.
