The rumors for the upcoming Nexus 8 tablet have started growing larger with the Google I/O event closing nearer. Recent report coming from Android Police saying that HTC is currently working on a 8.9inch Nexus tablet with codename Flounder or Volantis. Previously, there have been many rumors of the Nexus 8 tablet to be made from the Taiwanese giant.
According to the leaks, HTC Volantis would have an 8.9inch screen hosting a resolution of 2048×1440 pixels with nearly 281ppi density. The Nexus 8 is likely to have a 64-bit Tegra K1 CPU with a 2GB RAM support. It will likely come in two storage options of 16GB and 32GB. The Nexus 8 will have a 8MP camera at its back and a 3MP camera on its front.
The HTC based Nexus 8 tablet is likely to have a zero air gap construction with front-facing stereo speakers. The device is likely to be priced at $399 for the 16GB model and $499 for the 32GB one. We believe things to be getting more clear at the Google I/O event this week.
