Everyone in USA got suddenly surprised earlier in 2014 when Sharp launched AQUOS Crystal via Boost Mobile and Sprint. It has an edgeless display of 5 inches. It is one of those types of handsets that one would hardly find outside Japan. Therefore, it was natural for Crystal to get attention from customers living in USA.

AQUOS Crystal X
Sharp is now launching the upgraded version of AQUOS Crystal which is called AQUOS Crystal X. Actually the company had announced the launching of this smartphone at the time when AQUOS Crystal’s launching was announced. However, it did not materialize at that time, and now it is being launched. The Japan based customers will be able to pre-order it through SoftBank from 13th of December.

AQUOS Crystal by Sprint is considered a mid-range device; however, that is not the case of AQUOS Crystal X. It is surely a high-end device because of its excellent features. The screen is 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It has Harman Kardon sound and VoLTE. The processor is quad-core 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801, and the internal memory is 16GB. The battery is 2610 mAh , and the RAM is 2 GB. The handset has two cameras; one on the back, and one on the front. The front one is a 1.2 MP camera while the back one is a 13 MP camera with LED flash.

AQUOS Crystal X is thinner than most of the other 5.5-inch smartphones if not thinner than all of them. The size of this device is 139 x 73 x 11 mm which is smaller than the size of LG’s G3 that is 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9 mm.

AQUOS Crystal X is an Android handset, and it runs Kitkat. The price of this device is still unknown. It will be available in different colors that are red/pink, white and black. It is still not sure whether Sharp releases this handset in the US or not; however, anything can happen in the future. It will not remain a secret if that happens.
