Although everyone’s attention is currently focused on Apple’s upcoming flagship iPhone 6 and iWatch, Apple’s next generation iPad is also gearing up to enter the market. A report published by Bloomberg claims that according to its sources with “knowledge of the matter”, Apple’s Asian suppliers have begun manufacturing new iPads.

The mass production of 9.7-inch iPad Air has already started while the 7.9-inch iPad mini is set to enter production. Apple is planning to use a new anti-reflection coating for the larger iPad so that the display becomes easier to read. As a result, it may face certain manufacturing issues and its output may be limited initially.

The full sized new iPad Air is said to launch by the end of this quarter or in the beginning of the next quarter i.e. around September-October this year. The new iPad mini will possibly get released by 2014 year-end.

Although Apple has the largest share in the tablet computer market, its iPad sales have declined in the last two quarters. So the Cupertino based company is trying to breathe new life into the flagging sales with new improved iPad models.

Apple will surely try to time their launching to coincide with the holiday shopping season. Other products in the lineup include two variants of the iPhone and the fitness tracker iWatch. Apple is holding a special media event on September 9 when the company is expected to unveil its new 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhones.
