Taiwan reports is hinting that Apple’s long-rumored iPad Pro with a 12.9″ display will be powered by an A8X chip. The chipset will be more powerful than the current A8 chipset residing in the latest iPhone 6 dual phones and will also have 2GB of RAM.
Apple is having a tradition of incorporating two separate mobile chipsets, one for iPhones and the other one — with an “X” in its name — for iPads. However, the manufaturer broke that ongoing tradition in 2013 when three of its devices, including the iPad Air, iPhone 5s and the iPad mini with Retina display, sported with the same A7 chipset.
The reports narrating that the A8 will have an A8X successor and will be made by TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company ). The inclusion of a new A8X chipset for the iPad Pro could hint that the handset might feature an ultra high-resolution screen, which might wanted a much powerful GPU for hassle-free functioning.
The iPad Air as said earlier ,likely to have 2GB of RAM, a thinner body, larger speaker grilles, and a smaller camera lens which about to be fitted in a slight different location. Apple is going to launch the iPad Air 2 sometime in October. The introduction of the second-generation iPad Retina mini could be delayed till early 2015.
The iPad Pro is expected to go into mass production in the Q2 of 2015 and might be unwrapped soon after that.
