Light is number one option which is normally used in transmitting data over a long distance through cables, although when it comes to short collection of wireless, radio waves usually works in form of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Latest Mexican company Sisoft working with researchers from Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico –ITAM has at last manufactured a wireless technology which spreads data in a visible light emitted from Led lamps, at the same time lighting up the rooms.

There is a Li-Fi which is normally a short light reliability through a technology called Visible Light Communication –VLC. Not like Infrared based system, VLC works in transmitting data by the use of light visible to human eye. When it is transmitted in alternating, imperceptible sputters the light which is emitted by LEDs.
This team is known to have started out with audio, cabling up a protoboard table of a Smartphone through 3.5 mm audio jack. The protoboard table is converted from audio signal to optical signal which is therefore transmitted through a special emitter across the spectrum of light which is usually generated by LED lamp. At the receiving point , a receptor is therefore located in a speaker which is usually captured by a signal that latter converts it back to audio signal normally played by a speaker.
About wireless internet transmission, the same principle is used but a receptor device is used to design which is normally located above a router. The router includes an LED lamp which is usually used to transmit data in case of any failure by halo light emitter to be at range. Nevertheless, only those with a transmitter / receptor device will be able to send as well as receive the signal.

The Sisoft professional states that it has used this technology to transmit audio, video as well as internet rates of 10gigabits each second. This is a big improvement compared to a similar Li-Fi system which was developed at Siemens as well as Pennsylvania State University which only achieved a transfer rate of 500 Mbps together with 1.6Gbps correspondingly.

To add to its impressive transfer rate, Sisoft Company has also highlighted other benefits of this kind of technology. As we have said the data is transferred through light, it can not be hacked, so making it safer (although it may be easy to peep on other people’s data). This can be used in places like hospitals where radiation apparatus can block / wireless signals get disrupted. Additionally, it offers illumination at the same duration.
